Momentum Manufacturing Group

Momentum Manufacturing Group continues to implement the 5 Principles of Lean. Momentum Manufacturing Group will continuously focus on eliminating non-value added steps and focus on reducing variation in the remaining value-added steps. Together we will simplify and perfect.

Momentum Manufacturing Group is building a “House of Lean” on the following building blocks:

Standard Work – Momentum Manufacturing Group finds the most efficient, safest, and highest quality way to manufacture parts, and document the process so that they can be repeated consistently.

5-S Visual Management – Applying the 5-S practices of Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain helps Momentum Manufacturing Group create an orderly workplace by removing the waste and inefficiencies caused by clutter and disorganization.

Quick Changeover – Reducing steps in the setup and teardown processes allows Momentum Manufacturing Group to change from one part to the next more efficiently.

Mistake Proofing – (Poka Yoke) Designing systems, tools, and processes to prevent errors enables Momentum Manufacturing Group to devote time to finding creative solutions instead of fixing mistakes.

Layered on this foundation are the business practices and culture at Momentum Manufacturing Group to drive consistent quality and meet the expectations of internal AND external customers through:

  • Inventory Management Systems (KanBan/Balance Production)

  • Value Stream Mapping/Process Mapping

  • Supply Chain Management

  • Involving & Empowering the Workforce and promoting teamwork

Six Sigma Principles

Momentum Manufacturing Group continues to reduce variation within our processes to eliminate defects delivered to our Customers. By using different root cause analysis tools such as the “3 Level – 5 Whys” or “Fish Bone,” Momentum Manufacturing Group can reduce defects.

Momentum Manufacturing Group is dedicated to understanding the capability of our equipment and processes. This is done by performing capability studies focusing on meeting internal or external customer Pp, Ppk, Cp and Cpk requirements.
